At times in our lives, we can all experience difficulties and challenges. Our normal coping strategies don’t seem to be working and we feel pulled out of shape. Bottling things up may feel draining and exhausting, but sometimes talking to those closest to us is difficult. As a counsellor, I will offer you a confidential, safe and secure space to freely express and explore your thoughts and feelings. I will listen to you in an accepting and non-judgemental way and will not tell you what to do.
People who see a counsellor for the first time may feel a bit wary of all the ‘therapy stuff’ and are unsure of how it works. It might seem daunting and confusing as there are so many different theories and so much choice. Perhaps you just want someone to listen, to understand how life is for you right now and to work with you towards a positive outcome.
I believe that however you might be feeling as you read this, you have the capacity to explore the feelings, thoughts, needs, dilemmas and challenges that you may be experiencing. Counselling offers you the opportunity to do just that.
